With Dermot Hurford at 5th string Surrey boasted strength in depth and this saw them through against Lancashire 4/1, however it could have been closer for Lancashire had Nigel Willis not lost narrowly 9/7 in the 5th to Greg Pearman at 1st string in a lively encounter.
Yorkshire were handed a tough semi final against favourites Middlesex. With Mark Cowley and Duleep Adhihetty at 1st and 2nd strings Middlesex are a tough proposition and Yorkshire found them too hot to handle, losing 5/0.
Middlesex Ladies team were convincing winners of the Stage Two Inter-County weekend, hosted by Avon on 19 March, 2011.
We won our division by 2pts. This means that every win counted and winning 5-0 was massive.
We started the season with high hopes of winning as we had two current international players coming in at the top of the order. However, Stuart Hardy managed to sustain an injury early in the season and was no longer available.
You will be pleased to know that we avoided relegation by winning (rather unexpectedly) the weekend in Winchester.
We had high hopes for the Middlesex over 50 team this season as it boasted three players who represented England at this level last season ,Adhihetty, Cowley and Hardy, but fates conspired against us and the season ended in disappointment.
